AutoStore has entered into an agreement to acquire Logiqs B.V.. For Logiqs, this step provides an opportunity to further develop its pallet storage technology together with AutoStore and reach more customers worldwide.

Logiqs has been developing automation solutions for horticulture since 1975. That experience also forms the foundation of iCUBE, its automated pallet storage system with four-way shuttles and proprietary control software. Logiqs' warehouse technology is deployed at approximately 30 customer sites across different countries and industries. Its team of 60 employees brings expertise in automation, software and product development.

"For Logiqs, this is an opportunity to accelerate our technology together with AutoStore. I am confident that the combined expertise of Logiqs and AutoStore will create value for our customers. The cultural similarities between our two companies are a great starting point for a successful collaboration going forward", said Reyer van der Louw, CEO of Logiqs.

Developing the technology together

AutoStore is an international technology company founded in Norway that combines automation, software and AI for storage and order fulfilment. It is known for its compact storage system, in which robots travel on top of a grid to store and retrieve goods held in bins. AutoStore has approximately 2,000 systems in more than 68 countries.

Through the proposed acquisition, AutoStore intends to expand its platform over time to include automated pallet storage.

"This acquisition is another step in our journey towards building an autonomous, intelligent fulfilment platform. In Logiqs, we have identified a core technology that, over time, will bring roaming pallet AS/RS into the AutoStore platform, helping us address a broader set of needs for both new and existing customers", said Mats Hovland Vikse, CEO of AutoStore.

Both companies want to further develop the technology and make it available to more customers. Logiqs brings practical experience and an understanding of customer operations. AutoStore adds its development capabilities and international customer and partner network.

"During the process, we've been impressed with Logiqs' deep experience and insight into what is an exciting new product and technology area for us. We look forward to working together to further develop the platform and create value for customers", said Parth Joshi, Chief Product Officer and President Product Business Unit at AutoStore.

Horticulture remains part of the current offering

Logiqs has its roots in horticulture. For more than fifty years, the company has worked with growers on logistics solutions that fit their day-to-day operations. This expertise and these customer relationships are an important part of Logiqs.

Logiqs' current offering, including its horticultural systems, will continue to be sold and supported. Ongoing projects and support for existing systems will continue.

Next steps

Until the acquisition closes, Logiqs and AutoStore will continue to operate as separate companies. Further information about the collaboration and the development of the technology will be shared as plans take shape.
